Diagnostic Pathways
Conveniently located to serve Denver Metro, Fort Collins, and Colorado Springs.
Functional Medicine Diagnostic Pathways
Functional Medicine is built on the premise that understanding how the body is performing leads to prescribing appropriate diet, herbal and nutritional supplements, and lifestyle management tools to correct root causes of symptoms and illness and to establish vitality. Everyone has a unique genetic and biochemical make-up that helps determine refinements in individual treatment strategies when needed. The providers at Spire Health Pathways use a variety of measurements to collect information that is unique to understanding their client’s functioning.
Diagnostic Testing
Nutrigenomic testing can be of use for most clients and may be ordered with an evaluation through Spire Health Pathways as a separate consultation. Carotid IMT is a good screening tool for all adults 40 years of age and older and may also be scheduled at our clinic without a prior evaluation. Contact us for further information on scheduling these evaluations. Most other tests are used to further evaluate a condition for a patient and will be ordered after a provider has evaluated you
Testing that is used in evaluating our clients may include:
Nutrigenomic Testing
Evaluating the individual’s personal genetic coding that determines their use of nutrients, break down of toxins, and production of hormones and neurotransmitters such as dopamine.
Elimination Diet/Food Sensitivity Testing
Discovering which foods may be causing inflammation rather than nourishing the body.
Microbiome Testing
Assessing the variety and numbers of good bacteria as well as determining the presence of harmful strains.
Body Composition Testing
Measurement of muscle mass, water, and fat composition.
Cortisol Testing
Evaluation of the client’s stress response to daily events.
Sleep Monitoring
Logging the client’s sleep stages to optimize rest and recovery.
Carotid IMT
Assessment of the body’s vasculature in determining the risk for heart attack and stroke
Lipoprotein Testing and Particle Number
In-depth analysis of cholesterol to more accurately determine risk for heart disease.
Micronutrient Testing
Assessing the amount of a nutrient found at the cellular level.
Various other blood values are also measured including insulin, blood vitamin levels, blood counts, liver and kidney functions, measures of inflammation, complete thyroid testing including antibody levels as well as several other tests that may be discussed further with your provider.
